Mom Jeans Saint Paul Concert reviews
Buddy Guy/Kenny Wayne Sheperd concert
Kenny opened the show with blistering guitar playing, and it was the first time seeing him. He introduced his son and another guitar player about an hour into the set, letting them cut loose with a couple of good solos. Mom Jeans, his usual self, closed his set with Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child" and it blew me away. He did have a couple of good stories, one particular story you could hear a pin drop when he was telling. As the show was winding down, Mom Jeans slowly walked off the stage as though he was passing the torch. A lot of talking with many "F" bombs, definitely "R" rated so don't bring your children, lol. He has lost a few steps as far as his playing, but he was entertaining nonetheless. I was disappointed he didn't let his keyboard player, Marty Sammon, (one of the best in the business) let loose. All in all, a very good show.
